The
first combined Trapping
Seminar and Annual Picnic was held on Saturday,
August 27 at the facilities of Greg Hake at his
home in Dahlonega, Georgia. About 80 people attended.
This from Buster Brown:
Thanks one and all for one of GFA's
best event ever. A BIG thanks to Gregg Hake and family
for hosting
us today
... a beautiful place with folks who went out of their
way to make us feel at home. Much
appreciation to Thom & Lara Bardugon, Joel Volpi,
John Rudy and Larry Mullis for giving us quality instruction
and sharing their expertise. Joey Seabolt was kind enough
to give up his time to talk about "trapping solo" since
we were running behind today, so we'll ask our president
to share with us next time. Kudos to Jordan Turner too.
Flying that gyr/merlin in the heat wasn't easy, but Jordan
was willing to do it for us today ... much appreciated.
Thanks to Sandy Brown we were able to sign up
some
new
folks (and some renewals) and she gave everyone a chance
to get a shirt, an apprentice manual or a mug, any time & all
day. We sold a LOT of GFA stuff because of Sandy's efforts.
And, as usual, Bob Gordon really put the hammer down for
the raffle. Many of you good people were kind enough to
donate some quality stuff and Bob puts the squeeze on everyone
to join in the fun. GFA raffles are always successful thanks
to one Bob Gordon.
