Using this jump box inside
an enclosed 6 ft high covered fenced area you will
meet
all
the federal
and state
standards for keeping your hawk. You can use netting or
shade cloth for the cover. It will have to be elevated
over the fence to keep the bird's wings from touching.
The fenced area should be at about 15 ft square or big
enough
to keep
the wings from touching the sides.
Roy Dewitt's jump box
Roy made his
jump box shorter than the plans here. He used shade cloth
to cover the area.
He has
used a jump box for over 30 years with every kind of
hawk and falcon.
